Using the Wrong Adhesive for the Wall Location
A general interior wall and an exterior façade are not the same environment. Mistake 2
Fixing Marble Over Weak Plaster or an Unsound Wall
The adhesive can be excellent and the wall can still fail. If the plaster, render or skim coat has low cohesive strength, the adhesive may remain attached to the marble while pulling a layer of the wall away with it.

This evidence should guide the repair specification. A wall that failed because the plaster detached needs substrate repair first. A panel that shows only a few mortar dots needs a coverage-method correction. A resin-backed stone may need a different adhesive chemistry.
